Our Student Achievement Goals
The Chehalis School District’s simple tagline Preparing Students for the Journey Ahead comes from a long road of work on behalf of our students, staff and community. In the early 2000s, only about 30% of our graduates were going on to earn postsecondary degrees or certifications. With more than 70% of future Washington jobs projected to require some sort of training or certification after high school, we knew we had to do something to help our students see future success.
The Chehalis School District launched the Student Achievement Initiative in 2013, setting a goal of 60% of WF West graduates to earn a postsecondary credential within 6 years of graduation starting with the Class of 2022. We are on track to meet that initial goal, so in 2023 we set out sights on a new goal we call 75 by 35. We are working to ensure that, by the high school graduating Class of 2035, 75% of all W.F. West High School graduates will earn the credentials they need to be responsible, contributing citizens.

Cornerstone Partnership
A Regional Challenge Grant from the Washington Student Achievement Council helped us create the Cornerstone Partnership in 2023. Cornerstone Partnership supports families, helping them connect with the resources they need so they can focus on supporting their students’ success.
School Improvement Plans
In the Chehalis School District, we’re preparing students for the journey ahead. How do we do this? By providng our staff with training that aligns with best practices; creating goals that have us continualy striving for the best; and reviewing the efficacy of our planning and teaching against how well our students are performing.
Our School Improvement Plans are one part of this process. Every school site in the Chehalis School District, including Green Hill School, complete a School Improvement Plan every year. These plans are working documents that serve as the guidepost for every decision making process and education effort that we undertake.
75 by 35 Compass for Success
Our 75 by 35 Compass for Success is the document that guides the work of our newest student achievement goal: 75 by 35.
